Where are the women? Working experiences and entrepreneurship in the world of transport, June 14

“Where are the women? Working experiences and entrepreneurship in the world of transport”, workshop organized by the TINNGO project Italian Hub

The workshop took place in June the 14th, 2021, organized by the Italian Hub of the project TInnGO, of which the Polytechnic of Turin (DIATI Dpt) and City of Torino are partners.

Miriam Pirra and Angela Carboni presented the event and the activities of the Hub and the project on these issues. The workshop included interventions by associations working to encourage women’s participation in industry and entrepreneurship, such as STEM by Women and Gammadonna. Then experiences of women who work successfully in the sector were presented, such as Eleonora Gargiulo, founder of Wher, Daniela De Nigris, Head of Smart Road of ANAS, Angelina Fadda, founder of GIRLS in Italy, and Barbara Amerio, CEO of Amer Yachts. Then the webinar gave space to examples of possible initiatives to support female entrepreneurship, such as that of Amazon, presented by Martina Beretta, Business Development Manager of the company.

The workshop was part of the H2020 project TInnGO – Transport Innovation Gender Observatory (www.tinngo.eu), which has the objective of promoting a change in the European transport sector through a strategy of transformation of Smart Mobility that considers, in particular, the gender balance.
